Slavko Komel is one of the most popular drivers. Not only that he drive very spectacularly, in his company is never boring. And he also have one record - he attend rally Saturnus for 19 times! "First time I was competing rally Saturnus in 1979, as co-driver. Also next year, in 1980 I was a co -driver and after two years pause I started to drive, that was in 1983" 45years-old Slavko remembers his first Saturnus rallies.

But Slavko doesn't have Saturnus in good memories: "I started rally Saturnus for 19 times as a driver, but ončy 5 times I finished it! Mechanical problems were the main reason for many retirements." He started to drive with zastava 101, then 101 was replaced with yugo and in 1990 for the first time he start with opel kadett. "Opel kadett was very good and fast cae, but due to mechanial problems we didn't reach the finish line. The same happened with opel astra, which I still drive today. But I must mentioned, that with the last co-driver, Kristjan Sirok, I was more successful." Slavko still hope, that he will repeat results from 1988, when he was the winner in class N up to 1150ccm, or from 1986, when he finished in 2^nd  place. "Of course I hope that I will made some great result in rally Saturnus. This year I will drive opel astra, but I don't want to prognose anything.

Slavko also tell us that super special named Hrusica was the most technically difficult in all history, but spectators liked another special stage Velike Zablje, where in the last two corners cars were sliding even if they didn't want, because tarmac (asphalt) is so slippery. Every year there were few thousands fans expecting their heroes. "I hope, that rally Saturnus will become the biggest rally event in this part of Europe, as it was in the past, when also factory teams come to drive to Saturnus and when this was one of the biggest sport event in former Yugoslavia. I think, that Satunrus rally was as good as other biggest rallies in Europe, e.g. Piancavallo rally. Unfortunately everything started to go down in last few years, but I'm sure, that organisers are able to make Saturnus one of the greatest rally events in this part of Europe again!"
